Back

Sadly we are coming to the end of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for 2010 (ends tomorrow?). I liked the colourful persona of this actor from the Fringe production ‘Death of a Samurai’. Only on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile during most of August, might you expect to see such a ‘friendly’ person carrying a samurai sword over their shoulder. I am already looking forward to next year’s Fringe. By the way thanks to tricycledteenager for pointing out the similarity to the controversial pop singer Amy Winehouse (sadly Amy Whitehouse has died less than a year after I posted this and I find it sad that her addictive personality has doused her undoubted musical talent at a too early age).
Earlier this month Kirkcaldy Photographic Society had a successful club outing to Edinburgh, including the Fringe, with a number of non members accompanying us and having a great day out. Next Sunday, 5th September, there is another opportunity for you to have a great day out with us to Loch Leven (the Kinross Loch Leven) with the island castle that was a home to the imprisoned Mary Queen of Scots for about two years. On these days out we have a great laugh and will take lots of nice photos of the castle, loch, hills, flowers and wildlife there. Included in the term wildlife are some of our exotic club-members. Please check out the website www.kirkcaldyphotographicsociety.co.uk for contact details, or email my Flickr account for details of our trip. Our new club indoor season starts on Monday 13th September and we would be delighted to see you there.
